I have rarely been disappointed with Sennheiser products and absolutely love this headset - my company recently switched to VOIP and I needed a headset for traveling.
Pros:
Light and comfortable
Excellent sound quality - not quite as good as the HD-650s that I have but hey - 5% of the cost.
One Sided so I can still function normally - also a slight con see below
Flawless installation on Vista and Win 7
Love the fact that this is both USB and 3.5 jacks
Thin Cord - I can barely tell it is there - also a con see below
Even worked on my modded PS3
Cons:
One sided so it does not block out the outside noise but that is the reason I bought it so I can still hear what is going on with my team
Thin cord - has gotten caught twice in my CD tray and this has caused a pinch in it but no issues with the pinch
Microphone is extremely loud and picks up EVERYTHING including sound from an office three doors down through closed doors that I cant even hear - I keep having to lower the volume / sensitivity in every program such as VIOP and Adobe Connect and Skype
Overall I am very pleased with the headset - exactly what I wanted.

Volume control, Noise Cancelling, Flexible Mic, Awesome headset

| The pictures of this item are wrong and doesn't do the headset justice. I am writing this because I am pleasantly surprised by what I received. The PC 26 headset is much better than the one they picture here. It has a solid USB plug that lights up blue on connection, a volume control on mute switch that is in the cord, has a flexible mic that can be moved closer to your mouth, great noise canceling and sound is crisp. I bought this because I have purchased Sennheiser before and haven't been disappointed. This is a great headset if you want only one earpiece. Stoked it's much better than I thought. |
Great Sound and Comfortable!

Sounds Great.
Very Comfortable.
BUT - One snapped as I was slightly stretching it open to put over my head -- product it is a bit flimsy. Amazon exchanged it for a new one. I am being much more careful with the new one.
But as long as it does not snap, I like it flimsy. I can wear it all day. VERY lightweight and comfortable. |
Functional and doesn't comprimise on sound.

I was looking for a cheap replacement headset to replace the one I had been using for years because the cat decided to chew through the wire. Then, I decided to replace "cheap" with "USB." One other factor was that since nobody could ever get my attention when I had my old headset on, maybe a one-sided headset would help everyone out in the long run. That's how I found this snazzy little headset. Not as plush and cushion-y as my previous headset and not as snug and form fitting as my headset when I was working in phone tech support. But, it is very light weight, comfortable, people on the other side can hear you very clearly, and it is very easy to install. Plug and play is awesome (at least in this case). Now, you may be asking yourself, "J, that's all well and good, but how is the sound quality?" I'm getting to that, patience is a virtue, you know. The sound is actually pretty good. The bass response is well beyond my expectations for a headset so small and light. I keep my master volume turned down to about 35 and it is still plenty loud enough. You youngsters who like to listen to that rock and roll music may not like it that low but after years and years of mosh pits and metal concerts I've learned to love my ears and protect them. In fact, with the volume at 35 and not wearing them, my wife asked me to turn it down because it was distracting to her from across the room. But, the overall sound is crisp and clean with excellent bass response. If some of you are wondering (or complaining) if it's not in stereo, I will reiterate: It is a one-sided headset. You need two speakers to have stereo. It is mono. It is not made to listen to said rock and roll music through. It is so you can yell at your team mates to watch their six and to cover yours. Or, to tell that pesky huntard to stop hitting the wrong target and causing everyone to wipe.
My only complaint (if you can call it a complaint) is that the headband itself is a little flimsy. Not that I think it's going to fall apart on me. It's just doesn't feel "solid," if you know what I mean.
Oh, wait, one more. I said that the plug and play was good, and it is. However, after unplugging it, it takes a few minutes (at least on my system) to revert back to the speakers. I blame Vista more than anything, but it is a gripe.
All in all, I give the Sennheiser PC 26 USB Single Sided Start Headset with Superior Sound four pesky huntards out of five. |
pretty good

I got this for VOIP and conferencing. The sound is good for that. Not really usable for music though or for anything critical. Limited adjustability of the headset can be a problem. The boom mic also has limited adjustability and the fixed distance of the mic from the mouth can be a problem in very noisy environments as can the lack of isolation especially as this only is a single ear phone design.
Over all pretty good particularly for the money. |
